Business Analyst – Data Archiving and System Decommissioning
8-month contract | Auckland
We are looking for a Business Analyst to support the decommissioning of several legacy HR systems and help define what data needs to be archived or retired.
This role will work across SAP, SnapHire and SuccessFactors, focusing on data extraction, archiving rules, and purging requirements when employees leave the organisation.

We are looking for a Business Analyst to support the decommissioning of several legacy HR systems and help define what data needs to be archived or retired.
This role will work across SAP, SnapHire and SuccessFactors, focusing on data extraction, archiving rules, and purging requirements when employees leave the organisation.
What you’ll be doing
- Assess and document what data must be archived from core HR systems
- Work with SMEs to define data retention rules and purging processes
- Help design the future state approach for data storage
- Document procedures and workflows for offboarding and data removal
- Support dependencies across HR, payroll, and technology teams
- Around 3 to 7 years experience as a Business Analyst across digital, process, or platform change
- Strong analytical and modelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex detail
- Experience working with delivery teams and shaping functional requirements
- Understanding of change impacts, cross-team dependencies, and risks
- Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation abilities
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
- Understanding of HR and payroll processes and the data they rely on
- Confidence working with SAP HCM and Payroll
- Experience in data retention, archiving, or purging projects
- Exposure to employee data management or payroll data migrations
