Job description

6 Month contract - EUC / Desktop / IT Support / Level 2

Our client is looking for a Desktop Engineer to work 3 days onsite in the CBD and 2 at home.
Ideally you will have come from a Desktop or EUC support background and have expereince supporting NZ clients. 


Responsibilities:
  • Provide second-level technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex desktop, laptop, and peripheral problems, ensuring minimal disruption to user productivity.
  • Collaborate with L1 support teams to escalate and track incidents, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize ticketing tools, particularly Service Now, to manage and document all incidents and service requests effectively.
  • Support and maintain a Windows 10 desktop enterprise environment, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Implement software deployments and configurations using tools like SCCM to streamline IT operations.
  • Manage and modify group policies to maintain system integrity and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Provide expert support for Office 365 and Exchange Online, assisting users with email and collaboration solutions.
  • Ensure the organization's digital security by effectively managing endpoint protection products such as SEP and Defender.
  • Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills while interacting with users at all levels of the organization.
  • Apply your understanding of ITILv3 framework and principles to enhance service delivery and adherence to best practices.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • A moderate number of years of relevant managed services experience, with a strong focus on desktop engineering and support.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using ticketing tools, with a preference for experience with Service Now or similar systems.
  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as a Desktop Engineer, resolving complex technical issues effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of supporting Windows 10 desktop enterprise environments and advanced troubleshooting techniques.
  • Practical experience with deployment tools like SCCM for software distribution and system configuration.
  • Strong understanding of group policy management to maintain system security and compliance.
  • Expertise in Office 365 and Exchange Online, providing seamless support for email and collaboration solutions.
  • Familiarity with endpoint protection products like SEP and Defender, ensuring robust digital security.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
  • A basic understanding of ITILv3 framework and principles, contributing to efficient service management processes.
