This person will be developing and supporting near real time operational data analytics involving: data onboarding, visualisation and alerting development, primarily using Splunk Enterprise. Splunk's core purpose is to provide actionable insights from the data.
WHAT YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- With the rest of the team you will be accountable for support and development work associated with the Enterprise Splunk platform (including application integration, data onboarding, configuration, dashboard design/development, analytics solutions involving machine learning etc)
- Working with stakeholders to translate new requests from the business into workable solutions. This often involves an iterative process of refinement and improvement
- Working with other Developers and Engineers across the business to integrate applications, troubleshoot issues and test solutions
- Provide Splunk Enterprise Security (SIEM) support where required
- Incident remediation and minor tasks for updates and changes
- Providing specialist subject matter expertise and training to the wider business. This includes championing best practices
- You'll be working predominately using DevOps methods that embody the DevOps approach to delivery
- Experience in Splunk development, implementation, and support of Splunk solutions (some Security experience would be beneficial)
- Good working experience with Unix/Linux based systems
- Some knowledge of SQL based databases and SQL language
- Working experience with scripting/mark-up languages (JavaScript, Python, Shell, HTML, CSS etc as well as API use/development)
- Good understanding of IP Networking
- Some experience in systems administration would also be beneficial
- Proven troubleshooting skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven track record of being able to work autonomously as well as within a team, self-managing workload, taking ownership and delivering under pressure
