We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support a major data centre network upgrade project, working on an initial 6 month contract. You will work closely with a team of 3-4 engineers to assist in both the detailed design and implementation phases.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 

• Assist in the design and implementation of network upgrades.
• Support the migration from legacy Cisco Nexus platforms to a modern Nexus spine-leaf network. 
• Plan and execute VLAN migrations, coordinating with server teams to ensure smooth cut-overs.
• Collaborate with server and infrastructure teams during migration activities.
• While firewall management is not a core part of this role, experience with Fortinet products or firewall troubleshooting is a valuable bonus.

 
 
Skills & Experience Required:
 

• Proven experience with Cisco, ideally in migration or upgrade projects.
• Understanding of spine-leaf network architectures.
• Experience in VLAN planning, migration, and configuration.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (network, server, and infrastructure teams).
• Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex data centre environments.
• Familiarity with Fortinet firewalls or general firewall troubleshooting is advantageous but not essential.
