Our corporate client is looking for a strong DevOps Technical Lead to provide guidance and direction to their tight knit team while ensuring their environments are reliable, scalable, and fit for purpose. You will be focused on leveraging the right processes and technology to deliver the most efficient process for developing, testing, and delivering technical solutions. Your biggest focus will be providing technical leadership to the DevOps engineering team with coaching, mentoring, upskilling, and introducing new systems and tools. Although this role does not require any pure people leadership, you will be responsible for maintaining an awareness of your team members' workloads for appropriate project and BAU resourcing.
Essential experience & knowledge:
• 5+ years development experience, with two or more in system administration or Dev Ops
• 2+ years experience providing technical leadership and mentoring team members
• Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
• Strong grasp of container and automation tooling
• Familiarity with Kubernetes
• Ability to script and contribute to existing application codebases
• Experience with systems and IT operations
• Comfort with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment
• Data management skills (such as Postgres and RDS)
• A strong focus on business outcomes
• Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders
• Experience running web services (such as Ruby On Rails)
• Experience working with scripting languages
• Experience with the Linux operating system.
• Ability to analyse problems and identify root causes in conjunction with developers
• Strong working knowledge of AWS
