Our Wellington-based client is looking for an influential, expert Principal Agile Coach to join the team on a permanent, full-time basis. They are looking for someone with extensive experience coaching senior leaders on agile practices and supporting organisational strategy. Ideally, you will have experiencing shaping and supporting organisations throughout transition periods to new ways of working, ideally within SAFe environments.
You will have proven leadership and development experience of coaches and senior leaders, Product Managers/Owners, Scrum Masters, technical team members, etc. You will bring key expertise to the team to support Agile, Lean, and DevOps journey. You will provide guidance and feedback on ways of working, SAFe agile practices, roles and responsibilities, tools and techniques and support teams with the establishment of, and transition to, a successful high performing Agile Release Train (ART). Â
To be successful in this role you will have:Â
· Minimum of 7 years working as an Agile Coach and 7+ years working in an Agile environment.Â
· Experience supporting senior leaders, Product Managers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and other coaches to change mindsets and behaviours to align with the agile ways of working.Â
· Demonstrated experience being the ‘go to’ coach for other coaches within the organisation, helping shape the agile journey. Â
· Demonstrated experience leading autonomous teams, ideally demonstrating strong servant leadership. Â
· Experience filling various agile roles when needed (Practice Lead, Product Owner, Product Manager).Â
· Extensive experience with peer support and coaching for Agile Coaches.Â
· Proven experience applying an Agile mindset.Â
· Experience in helping teams transition from traditional ways of working to Agile.Â
· Excellent communication skills.Â
· Proven coaching, facilitation, and mentoring skills at the individual, team, and leadership level.Â
· Experience using tools such as Jira, Kanban, and Visual Management boards.Â
· Experience working with multiple teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different cultures, co-located vs distributed, etc.) (preferable).Â
· Experience working cross-organisation and with formal and informal networks – sharing practices and ideas on agile to support continuous improvement across the wider agile community within New Zealand. Â
· Current ICF accredited coaching certification (preferable).Â
· Current Agile coaching certification (preferable).Â
· Current Agile certification such as Scrum Master, Product Owner or SAFe (preferable).  Â
