Project Manager

Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead a critical project within a large-scale transformation programme.

This is a full-time contract role based in Christchurch, with an initial term of 12 months. Hourly rate contract.
You’ll have the flexibility to work from home part of the week, but a minimum of three days in the office is required.

About the Project
This project is focused on redesigning complex operational structures to improve efficiency and service delivery. It’s a high-impact initiative that requires strong leadership, analytical thinking, and the ability to navigate technical and procedural challenges.

What You’ll Do
  • Drive project delivery within agreed timelines and governance frameworks.
  • Facilitate structured decision-making and option analysis.
  • Ensure risks and issues are identified, quantified, and escalated appropriately.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement and secure decisions at the right level.
  • Oversee project artefacts and apply best-practice frameworks pragmatically.

What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills – able to get to the root of issues.
  • Solid understanding of project governance, frameworks, and lifecycle artefacts.
  • Expertise in risk and issue management.
  • Ability to manage upwards and facilitate strategic decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
