Job description
- Duration – 12 months
- Location - Wellington
- Digital Modernisation Journey
We’re looking for an experienced Senior API/Backend Developer to help modernise digital platforms. You’ll work across critical applications, uplift complex legacy systems, and support the move towards containerised, scalable, modern architectures.
What you’ll do:
- Containerise legacy Java applications (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift)
- Improve reliability and health of Legacy tech stack
- Contribute to key Digital Modernisation initiatives
What you’ll bring:
- Strong backend development experience (Java)
- Hands-on experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
- CI/CD experience (Jenkins or similar)
- Spring framework and RESTful API expertise
- Experience with MQ/Kafka event/messaging platforms
- Database knowledge (Postgres, Oracle) – nice to have
- Cloud experience (AWS, especially EKS)
