Job description
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering modern, cloud-native web applications.
This is a permanent opportunity offering long-term stability, modern technology and the chance to work on large-scale systems.
Our client is open to a resource located in Auckland and or Wellington.

Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain scalable web applications using Java, Spring, and Hibernate/JPA
- Build modern front-end applications using React.js and JavaScript
- Develop and maintain APIs, including publishing, versioning and ongoing support
- Contribute to microservices architecture and cloud deployment patterns
- Work with AWS and Infrastructure as Code practices
- Collaborate closely with other engineers, product owners, and stakeholders
- Ensure high standards of performance, security, and maintainability
Skills & experience
Essential
- Commercial experience developing web applications using Java, Spring, Hibernate/JPA
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and React.js
- Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design
- Experience with state management tools such as Redux
- Strong understanding of React Hooks, functional components, and lifecycle
- Experience working with APIs (design, versioning, maintenance)
- Understanding of structured and unstructured databases
- Hands-on experience with AWS
- Knowledge of microservices and cloud deployment patterns, including Infrastructure as Code
- Exposure to insurance, e-commerce, or payments platforms
