Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced and people-focused Applications Team Leader to guide the delivery of their core business applications function within the Information Directorate. This is a key leadership opportunity to shape a high-performing centre of excellence supporting critical platforms across Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, ServiceNow, and enterprise information systems.

In this role, you’ll lead a team of Application Analysts, ensuring the team delivers responsive, robust, and customer-centred support across the application portfolio. You’ll oversee critical incident management, build resilient team structures through cross-functional capability, and drive a roadmap of continuous improvement and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Application Analysts across core platforms including D365, M365, SharePoint, ServiceNow, and information/records systems.
  • Oversee the management of critical incidents and ensure scalable processes, resourcing, and tooling to meet operational demands.
  • Drive application portfolio resilience through skills cross-training and shared ownership across the team.
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps and implementation strategies aligned with business priorities.
  • Manage product backlogs and deliver continuous improvement through Agile methodologies.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and vendors to support effective product delivery and support.
Experience:
  • Proven experience building and managing high-performing technical teams.
  • Strong background in delivering and supporting enterprise applications, ideally with Microsoft and ServiceNow platforms.
  • Hands-on experience developing product roadmaps and leading Agile delivery cycles.
  • Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly across technical and business teams.
  • A pragmatic, customer-first mindset with a drive for service improvement.
